Personal Miscellaneous Data:

  • My father, Arnold Wagner, passed away on Friday, August 31st, 2007... greatly loved, and sorely missed.
  • I am blessed to be married to a really great guy.  We live with two daughters and three cats in an older home.  We live in beautiful Oregon, in the USA.  Rain drenched, but beautiful.
  • We homeschool.  It's a tossup as to who benefits more - the kids or adults.  Their favorite subjects are history, art, and (at the top of the list) recess.  Some things stay the same, whether it's public, private or home school.
  • I have some favorite websites, and this is my opportunity to put in a good word for them.
  • www.FlyLady.net                   Organization for home, work and life.
  • www.arnoldwagner.com         Information on cartooning and nib pens.
  • www.doverpublications.com   Inexpensive classics for book lovers everywhere.
  • www.thisoldhouse.com           We live in an old house.  This is our survival guide.
  • www.hearthsong.com             Great online toy store: for physical, mental & creative fun.
  • www.world.altavista.com        Babel Fish - translate from one language to another.
  • www.truthorfiction.com           Which urban legends are true and which are... well, urban legends.
  • www.CharlotteMason.com     The educational ideals on which we base our home-schooling.
  • http://www.powells.com          My absolutely, favorite bookstore.
  • For you technically blessed people:  I am an artist, not a website programmer.  Though I am learning, I am far (so very far) from mastery.  If you are twitching from my lack of technical prowess, and have insight or knowledge which you wish to pass on to me, I of course would be grateful.  Thank you.
  • Last but hardly least, a favorite quote which hangs above my desk, with an accompanying Bible verse:  "Nothing can take the place of persistence and determination.  Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.  Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.  Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts."  --President Calvin Coolidge.  "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."  Colossians 3:23.  These remind me that perspiration is essential, not optional.
  • Blessings to you,
    Rachel
